IWRS Partners
Our Drop-off Partners
Please email us before planning on dropping off a wild animal for rehabilitation. We will let you know where to drop off. Do not bring wildlife to any partner vet clinics for us without confirming with us FIRST.
Only those wildlife species will be accepted at our partner-vets which we can care for in Summerland.
Our facility is purpose-built to care for small mammals such as beavers, porcupines, badgers, bats, skunks and marmots. We also have housing and resources for reptiles such as turtles, as well as aquatic birds including herons, swans, geese, ducks, loons, grebes and seagulls.

Our friends

The Langen family at the Northern Lights Wildlife Shelter in Smithers run one of the longest-standing modern rehabilitation facilities in our province. They saw the need for a wildlife shelter in the Bulkley Valley, Northern BC and are now looking at a wealth of knowledge and experience they have collected over the past 30 years. The Langen's specialize in the care of bears and ungulates, they are leaders in successful black and grizzly bear rehabilitation.
Together we promote the coexistence of wildlife in our neighbourhoods, so injured and orphaned animals don't just have euthanasia as their only option.
We may stabilize injured coyote pups, truly orphaned black bear cubs or fox kits for transfer to NLWS (with prior approval by them only).

The Rehabilitation Team at the BC Wildlife Park in Kamloops has a fully equipped veterinary facility located in Kamloops, BC. This facility cares for a wide range of species, including songbirds and raptors (which IWRS does not have resources for). Each year, over 400 animals are admitted to their Fawcett Family Wildlife Health Centre and a highly dedicated team of staff and volunteers take care of wildlife patients for rehabilitation.
We may stabilize injured raptors or injured bobcat kittens for transfer to the BCWP (with prior approval by them only).
To reach out to the BCWP, call: 250-573-3242 ext. 230
NOTE: Any drop-offs to our partner VET CLINICs need to be confirmed by us first!
