our work

Interior Wildlife is a non-profit organization

We are federally & provincially licensed to care for and release small mammals, aquatic birds and reptiles

Our Story

The Interior Wildlife Rehabilitation Society (IWRS) has been established in 2020. We are joining forces with other privately funded centres to rehabilitate injured, sick and displaced wildlife. We believe in community & education.

Peaceful co-existence of people & native wildlife in our local communities is possible. We are here to answer your wildlife questions and to connect people with the same goal.  We provide a local government licensed facility for wildlife rehabilitation, here – in the beautiful Okanagan Valley of BC.

Our vision

To contribute to a future where people:

RESPECT wild animals as neighbours inhabiting shared space.

EXPERIENCE positive connections to wildlife, their natural environment and behaviour.

UNDERSTAND the importance and power of individual responsibility towards healthy ecosystems.

Our Mission

The Society (IWRS) advocates for a peaceful co-existence of local communities and native wildlife by providing education and expert advice about human-wildlife interactions, and by contributing nursing and medical care to sick, injured and displaced wild animals with the goal of releasing healthy animals back into their natural habitats.
